Revd Ali Dorey

Ali has lived and worked on urban estates and ex-mining villages in South Yorkshire for around 30 years. She was Director of Training for Fresh Expressions UK until March 2019. Ali has a BA in Biblical Studies & Music from the University of Sheffield and an MA in Theology & Ministry from Cranmer Hall, Durham. She was ordained in 2007 and has since held a variety of posts. She is currently self-employed with PTO. Ali became a Companion of Contemplative Fire about 13 years ago (see https://contemplativefire.org/) and lives in a small communal household. Together, they create spaces of prayer and sanctuary in the city.

 Ali enjoys singing in various groups and playing the piano. She writes poetry and theology (see https://laperle.blog) and loves going for walks in the Peaks, watching films and practising contemplation with the help (and sometimes hindrance) of Xena the household cat.
