What to expect
The Clergy Conference is an opportunity for clergy from the Diocese to gather with the Bishop for prayer, worship, ministerial development and support. This year the conference is just one night so we have taken the opportunity to try a few new things.
Everyone is welcome, but if this is your first conference then you are invite to arrive at 9.15am for a short tour of the site. You are free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, most clergy do not wear clerical attire.
All worship will take place in the Chapel.
The main conference room will look different to last year, along with some chairs lecture style there will be tables for those who like to reflect creatively, take notes or just prefer a table. Delegates are also welcome to sit on floor or stand.
We will have a designated quiet room, The Kinder Room, on the left as you walk into the Derbyshire Suite. Conferences are busy and can be overwhelming, so this space is available for use throughout the conference.
The dining room is large and can be very busy; there will be designated quiet tables by the windows (especially at breakfast) and tables for those new(ish) to the Diocese to meet others. These tables will be clearly labelled.
We look forward to welcoming you in October.

Note:
In keeping with the diocesan ethos of caring for God's creation and trying to become greener, this year we will keep printed material to a minimum and we will not be printing hard copies of the conference Worship Booklet or other literature.
Of course, you may choose to print the booklet yourself at home. However, we would urge you to consider the environment before choosing to print.
